Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park Game Drive & Transfer to Karatu
Lunch, Dinner Luxury / Mid-Range Lodge in Karatu (e.g., Farm House Valley / Marera Valley Lodge) 1,400 m - 1,100 m - 1,500 m ~120 km drive to Tarangire; ~90 km transfer to Karatu 2.5 hours driving to park; 4–5 hours game drive
Your driver-guide from Tanzania Kili Adventures will pick you up early from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. Depart for Tarangire National Park, arriving in time for a full mid-morning and afternoon game drive.

Tarangire is famous for its giant baobab trees and massive elephant herds that gather along the Tarangire River. Scan the riverbanks and open woodlands for lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and over 500 species of birds. Enjoy a hot picnic lunch in the park before heading to the highland town of Karatu for dinner and relaxation.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater Floor Big Five Safari & Return to Arusha

After an early breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area gate and ascend the crater rim (2,300 m) before descending 600 meters down onto the caldera floor (1,700 m).

Spend 5 to 6 hours exploring this pristine volcanic amphitheater. Ngorongoro offers one of the highest chances in East Africa to spot all members of the Big Five in a single day, including rare black rhinos, golden jackals, hyenas, and massive bull elephants. Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch beside the hippo pool. In the afternoon, ascend the crater walls and enjoy a smooth transfer back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).
