Guided by 100% local safari naturalists from Tanzania Kili Adventures in custom 4x4 Land Cruisers with pop-up roofs, you will track mega-herds gathering on the riverbanks, observe dramatic leap-offs into the water, and monitor big cat activity along the surrounding acacia woodlands and granitic kopjes.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha / Bush Flight to Northern Serengeti (Mara River Zone)
Lunch, Dinner Northern Serengeti Tented Camp (Kogatende / Mara River area) 1,400 m - 1,350 m (Northern Serengeti) ~50-minute flight (or overland transit) + ~60 km game drives 1 hour flight; 4–5 hours riverfront game drive
Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up in Arusha or a transfer to Arusha Airstrip for a scenic bush flight directly to Kogatende Airstrip in the Northern Serengeti. Upon landing, meet your Tanzania Kili Adventures guide and begin game tracking immediately.

Spend the afternoon along the banks of the Mara River, identifying active crossing points where thousands of wildebeest and zebras congregate. Watch for Nile crocodiles waiting in the shallows and big cats positioning themselves on the banks. Transfer to your luxury or mid-range tented bush camp in time for sunset drinks and dinner.

Day 2: Full-Day Mara River Crossing & Migration Tracking

Dedicate a full day to tracking the Great Migration across the Northern Serengeti ecosystem. Your guide will position the vehicle near key river crossing sites (Crossings 1 through 10) to observe herd dynamics and crossing attempts.

Spend hours witnessing the tension, dust, and raw adrenaline of mass crossings as herds hurl themselves across the Mara River. Enjoy a picnic lunch under an acacia tree in the bush before exploring nearby kopjes for lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Return to camp in the evening for dinner around the campfire.

Day 3: Morning Serengeti Safari & Return to Arusha
