From $1,000.00

Overview

Focusing entirely on the geological wonders and human history of the UNESCO-listed Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the Ngorongoro 4-Day Trip: Sunrise on the Rim offers an immersive alternative to standard fast-paced circuit safaris. By staying on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater Rim (2,300m), you will witness golden morning light break over the 600-meter deep volcanic caldera before descending early onto the floor ahead of daytime visitors.

Guided by expert 100% local naturalists from Tanzania Kili Adventures in custom 4x4 Land Cruisers, you will track all members of the Big Five (endangered black rhino, lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo) alongside golden jackals, hyenas, and flamingos at Lake Magadi. Beyond the main crater floor, this dedicated itinerary ventures into the off-the-beaten-path highlands for a guided crater rim walking safari, a day hike to the flamingos of Empakaai Crater, and a cultural visit with the ancient Hadzabe hunter-gatherers near Lake Eyasi.
